Warum alle diese doch recht einfachen Gedankengang des "Why" so abfeiern, erschließ sich mir nicht. Der Gedankengang, dass Marken sich über andere Faktoren außer dem Preis und vermeintlicher Benefits abgrenzen müssen, ist allgemein klar und wird im Buch etwas zu ausführlich (eigentlich durchgehend) erklärt. Und ein "Why" kann dabei helfen. Seine Thesen stützt er – wie so viele andere Markentheoretiker – im wesentlichen auf den Erfolg von Apple. Wie viele Bücher schon den Erfolg von Apple analysiert haben und ihre eigene These dazu nützen, ist mittlerweile unüberschaubar. Aber nur weil Apple den Kunden ein "Why" bietet, sind sie nicht erfolgreich, das ist zu kurz gedacht und das sollte absolut jedem bekannt sein. Dann könnte ja jeder den einfach Erfolg kopieren.Ärgerlich ist, dass der Inhalt des Buches auf 20 Seiten gepasst hätte und dass es keinerlei Anleitung gibt, wie der Leser, denn für sich selbst das Why/How/What definieren kann. Dafür muss man wohl einen überteuerten Workshop von Sinek buchen. Fazit: 20% interessante Gedanken, 80% aufgeblasene Zeitverschwendung.

To me it seems like the message could have been conveyed within 50 pages. Second, although the topic was not so prominent the time Simon was writing this book, he still sticks to hierarchies, but modern teal-evolutionary organizations function without hierarchy.But the message is too important to not be spread around the world!Why? I have watched a lot of Simon's videos on YouTube, and I love them all.Finally, I bought his book, Start with WHY.I you know Simon, you know what you get.If you don't know Simon,this book is a must have in any library, if you are interested in yourself and the people around you.The purpose, the WHY is so important, but it is often not in the focus of people or companies.This book is valuable for personal purpose but also an employee.Must have. Get it. And also watch Simon's videos, they are great and inspiring.
Generally I liked the book.Part 5 "The biggest challenge is success" was the most interesting for me as it me reflect on why I often loose interest in things (job, hobby, ...) after a few years. When focusing on why you wanna do something (for a particular feeling or state of mind) the way how you do it becomes less important.Nonetheless on many passages of the book I found myself flipping forward through the pages as it seemed to me the author is repeating the same point multiple times with multiple examples. Those parts I found a little boring...
Der Inhalt des Buches haette auf weniger als 50 Seiten gepasst. Der Rest sind Wiederholungen, drumherum-Gerede, etc. Der Gedanke des Why hat natuerlich etwas. Ob es der ausschlaggebende Grund fuer Kundenbegeisterung und Kundenbindung ist, weiss ich auch nach der Lektuere des Buches nicht. Ich habe das Buch mit dem Hintergrund einer geplanten Existenzgruendung gelesen. Der Inhalt regt schon zum Denken an. Trotzdem nur 3 Sterne.
He is repeatedly saying the same stuff. I mean this book could have had half of the pages it has now. It is useful and very well written, but too repetitive. On the other hand some examples he gave are very good, the concept he's explaining is good, but just a little boring. 3 stars because there is some useful stuff.
5 Stars because it is not perfect, it hast its flaws, but it hits the right spot I believe and was always wonderin about. I've been hooked by this concept since I've watched his TED clip which is a good start but cannot replace a 200 page book. More people should read this book and I'll help to spread the idea here in south germany,also known as bavaria.Start with WHY!
Der Ansatz "Start with Why" ist super. Ich ziehe 3 Sterne ab, weil man den Inhalt auf 15 Seiten hätte kürzen können. Der Autor wiederholt sich, einige Beispiele sind interessant aber sehr oberflächlich. Schade, hatte mehr erwartet.
